Process Explorer v11.31 - A pretty damn cool application....

....if you need to get more information about what's actually running on your system than what Task Manager wants to tell you, then you should check out Process Explorer.

Now don't get me wrong, Task Manager is NOT a horrible application, especially considering that it is a "freebie" that comes with the OS after all, and there are little tips and tricks that you can use to get all of the information you really need out of it...

...but personally, I say "fuck that noise." Shit needs to work right from the start, not after I sit around and have to massage the fucking program's "metaphorical clit" until it feels like it wants to do as I tell it).

...let me just tell you a little something about how I feel when a tool, piece of equipment, person, animal, etc. wants to fuck around and ignore my directions or basically all in all get the fuck caught slippin like a trick nasty bitch.... yes I am very well aware that in-animate objects do not "get caught slippin" or make decisions not to follow my directions.... regardless of that, I will still bring the hammer down with the fury of an angry god when shit doesn't go how I want it to....

That's where "Process Explorer" comes in. This cool little application gives you a literal SHITLOAD of details surrounding the active processes on your machine. One really kick-ass feature is that it will actually map out process tree dependencies (i.e. say you are looking at a process that's eating up a ton of resources. What happens if you kill it? Oh, you aren't sure? Exactly. No more of that bullshit... EVER!!) Why no more?

I'll tell you why bitches!! Because now, thanks to Mark Russinovich, we have "Process Explorer v11.31" now tricks!!

Grab it here from TechNet (that's right, TechNet sucka!) and put all of those "trick NasT" processes back in check by representing in a proper fashion... or.. I suppose you could even fuck around and click the "Source" link below...

Kinda cool, but I still fail to understand why Microsoft must make everything difficult for the laymen to understand.

I can navigate my way through the tool just fine, but I'm also a computer professional. Grab just about any other member of my family and they wouldn't understand this tool at all. Which means, yes, that's right, I will continue to be forced into tech support slavery for life.

It shouldn't be that hard to provide a description for every process, yet many, if not the majority of descriptions are blank, thus defeating the purpose of this tool because who cares what the process is attached to if they don't understand the definition of the attachment.

Yes, I said "thus" bitches. All this computer talk and usage of "thus" makes me feel straight gangsta!

Oh, and one other thing... You can only download the executable file. Where's the install to prevent accidental deletion or easy find?!

Sorry if I crushed your "badass tool" dream, Link...

Well sheit... "you can step into the adult world and take the kid gloves off" is what I have to say about your request for an installer. 8^)

I've used the tool more than a couple of times already for some triage work on Outlook. I also have it replacing my Task Manager now, which is a giant piece of shit...

Now I can actually see what's going on, and it tracks the history of processor load per process/instance. So, I guess if you are delving deep into an issue and need to find out EXACTLY what's going on, then it's useful (except for the part where the processes don't have names... bitches) to speed up triage work.

As far as for the casual user, or using it to try and find out exactly what something is.... ya, no dice. You basically have to know what you are looking for to make the tool effective, and while you can get all of this information via other methods which don't require this tool, this tool does pull all of that into one place and kind of "collect it for you" so to speak...

but I digress...

actually, no, I don't.. but I wanted to say it. 8^)
